NEW POTENTIAL ALLELOCHEMICAL FROM FLOWERS OF ADENANTHERA PAVONINA LINN
Umesh Kumar Vishwakarma*
. Abstract A new allelochemical (1), m.p. 232-34OC, m.f. C33H40O19, [M]+ 740 (FABMS) has been isolated from methanolic extract of the flowers of Adenanthera pavonina Linn. alongwith four known compounds luteolin, kaempferol, β-amyrin and genistein. The structure of a new allelochemical was characterized as 5, 7, 3′-trihydroxy-4′- methoxyflavone-5-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-7-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl- (1→4)-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside by various colour reactions, spectral analysis and chemical degradations. Keywords: Adenanthera pavonina Linn., Fabaceae, allelochemical, antimicrobial activity. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
