TOXICOLOGICAL STUDIES OF INDIUM (III) PORPHYRIN COMPLEXES CONTAINING SALICYLATES AS AXIAL LIGAND
Gauri D. Bajju*, Deepmala, Ved Kumar, Sujata Kundan and Altaf Ahmed
Abstract A series of Indium (III) tetraphenyl porphyrin complexes containingsubstituted salicylates as axial ligands have been synthesized andcharacterized by various spectroscopic techniques including UV-Vis,IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass. The synthesized complexes werescreened for their toxicity against bacterial strain E. coli AB 1157, awild-type strain, proficient to repair damage in the DNA. Except TPPIn-4-CSA, none of the compounds showed significant MIC(minimuminhibitory concentration) against E. coli AB 1157 which indicates thatthese compounds do not exhibit any deleterious effect or toxicity to thebacterial cell in this study. Keywords: Salicylates; Spectroscopic techniques; toxicity; bacterial strain. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
