Abstract
Rasashastra & Bhaisjya Kalpana is one of the main branch ayurveda,
because Treatment is possible only with the Aushada (medicine) which
are prepared by Rasashastra. The base Dravya (substance) of
Rasaudhis is Parad (mercury), it is not used in its single form as it
does not have a medicinal form. Various material combinations and
form changes are done to get the properties of the medicine. According
to the process, the formulations made from Parad are made in the form
of Khalviya, Parpati, Potli, Kupipakva and Bhasma etc. Historical
evidence of Parpati Kalpana dates back to the 11th century, with
allusions to Acharya Chakrapani's Chakradatta. In Rasashastra, the
term Parpati (thin flake-like medicine) has been used multiple times.
Parpati is a thin Flake-like mixture made up of Parada,
Gandhaka (sulphur), and other. Parada Murchita Yoga is a Parada Murchita Yoga
preparation that contains therapeutically beneficial minerals and metallic compositions,
including both Sagandha (with sulphur) and Nirgandha (without sulphur) (medicines
prepared out of mercury). Parpati Rasayanas have a high therapeutic value, are potent, have
little toxicity, and are cost effective. Many studies on Parpati have been done in relation to its
medicinal, therapeutic, and literary aspects, but no work on Parpati Kalpana has been done
thus far.
