Abstract
The global COVID-19 pandemic has put a huge pressure on healthcare
systems and orthopaedic surgeons. Thousands of surgical
cancellations were required during the pandemic's peak. Telemedicine
allows physicians in a variety of subspecialties to give care in a safe
and effective manner. Telemedicine's popularity and use will
undoubtedly increase as technology advances, especially in light of the
emerging coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Due to a lack of routine
follow-ups and hospital and outpatient-based therapies, the present
COVID-19 pandemic has implications for orthopaedic patients'
morbidities. Telemedicine has lately emerged as a viable option for
giving patients with vital information regarding orthopaedic self-care
and drugs that may be followed without a visit to the hospital.
