EFFICACY OF ABHAYARISHTA AND KANKAYAN VATI IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ARSHA

Abstract
Arsha is certainly one of the commonest vyadhi that afflict the
mankind. Clinically it is seen that many people of both sexes suffer
from Arsha. It is a frequent experience to find Arsha on routine rectal
examination in a patient who have never had any complaints referable
to them. Arsha is also described by all the classics of Ayurveda. Arsha
is the gift of busy life style and its prime etiological factor is
“Mithyahar” At present, the human society is leading with mechanical
life, environmental factors, frequent changing of lifestyle, climate, etc.
which results in vitiation of doshas. The vitiated eka doshas, dwidoshas
or Sannipataj doshas along with Rakta dosha and travels downwards
through main Dhamani to reach Guda and affect Gudawali. Thus,
produces Arsha in Individuals suffering from Mandagni. In spite of
progress in modern medicine numerous conventional systems offer medical, surgical and
other procedures for the management of haemorrhoids but have certain limits. The drugs
employed for prevention of manifestation of Arsha in recurrent cases may not be advisable
for regular and prolonged use due to their adverse effect. So present study is undertaken for
evaluating the efficacy of Abhayarishta and Kankayan Vati in the management of Arsha.
