INTRACHOLECYSTIC PAPILLARY TUBULAR NEOPLASM (ICPN) WITH LOW GRADE DYSPLASIA - A RARE CASE REPORT

Abstract
Intracholecystic Papillary-Tubular Neoplasm (ICPN) is a umbrella
terminology recently used which includes adenomas and hyperplasia.
Here we present a case of a 57-year-old female with complaints of
abdominal pain in right hypochondrial region for 2 weeks associated
with vomiting. CT abdomen showed a lesion in the body of the gall
bladder. Extended Radical Cholecystectomy was done.
Macroscopically gallbladder with segment of liver was received and
cut section of gall bladder revealed a polypoidal growth measuring
1.8*1.5*1 cm in the body with an adjacent single pigmented detached
lesion measuring 1*1*0.5 cm within the lumen of the gallbladder. The
wall thickness measured 3 mm. Histopathological examination showed
gall bladder mucosa with adjacent polypoidal neoplasm composed of
tubular and papillary structures, the tubules are lined by columnar epithelium with focal area
showing goblet cells and pyloric type of mucosa. Section from the detached mass also
showed similar histology. No evidence of invasion was noted and a diagnosis of this recently.
