Abstract
In this paper we reproachfully, review anatomic, physiological,
pathophysiological and pharmacological aspects in the liver. The
largest gland occupying 2.5% of total body weight and providing a
host of functions obligatory for maintaining normal physiological
homeostasis. Most of the function of liver are discussed very detailed
on this review. Hepatocellular and exocellular mechanism of the liver
explain the pathophysiological regulation. Certain drugs interrupt the
mitochondrial function by a dual effect by mitochondrial disruption
resulting in low level of ATP production. Metabolic receptors, for
which the adequate stimuli have not yet been specified, influence
feeding behavior and gastric acid secretion in response to alterations in hepatic metabolism
associated with changes in the supply of metabolic fuels. Directions for future research are
suggested and general conclusions about the Pathological and pharmacological aspects of
liver.
