A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF VYADHIKSHAMATVA (IMMUNITY) VIS -A -VIS AYURVEDA & MODERN PRESPECTIVE

. Abstract The concept of Vyadhikshamatva is a unique and important concept of Ayurveda. According to Acharya Charak -" न च सवाणि शरीराणि व्याधिऺमत्वे समर्ाानन भवन्ति" (च.सू.28/7). The body of all people are not equally capable for Vyadhikshamatva, that is some people are capable, while some people are not capable. Vyadhikshamatva can be correlated with the Immunity in the modern science. Immunity is the capability of multicellular organisms to resist to harmful micro organism. The concept of immunity in modern medical science was initiated by a German scientist "Behring" in 1890. Protection against the infectious diseases is only one of the consequences of the immune response, which entirely is concerned with reaction of the body against any foreign antigen. This pandemic of Covid-19 enforced all of us to think about the anicient medical science Ayurveda, the science of life in a revised manner.
