CONCEPT OF MAMSADHATU – A REVIEW ARTICLE

. Abstract In Ayurveda, there are three basic components dosh, dhatu, mala on which the human body stand. There are seven dhatus present in human body which are rasa, rakta, mamsa, meda, asthi, majja and shukra. Among these Mamsadhatu is very important dhatu in body. It predominantly have Prithvi mahabhuta in its constitution. Mamsadhatu is third no. dhatu in the sequence of seven dhatus. Its moolsthan are twacha and snayu. Muscles, tendons and skin are main site of mamsadhatu. All Ayurveda scholars mention its names as Pishita, Kravya, Palala, Amish, Tarasa, Medaskrut Raktateja, Raktodbhava.
