Abstract
Smile is the most recognized expression in the world and its value is
undeniable. Achieving an esthetically pleasing smile irrespective of
their specialty is the essential goal of the dentist. Gummy smiles can be
corrected with a nonsurgical method, minimally invasive treatment
option by using Botox. Other than gummy smile, it is also used as a
treatment option in a variety of conditions like pain management,
bruxism, implantology, sialorrhoea and masseteric hypertrophy. This
article discusses the basics of botulinum toxin and its use in dentistry
and periodontal procedures.
