Abstract
Dandruff is a scalp that is characterized by biting, as well as abnormal
and rapid changes in the outer layer of the scalp. Malassezia fungi are
responsible for causing dandruff. The effectiveness of herbal remedies
and their anti-fungal properties has been tested. This review
summarizes the findings of studies that focused on evaluating the antidandruff
effect of medicinal plants. Punica granatum, Bacopa
monnieri, Asparagus racemosus, Azadirachta indica, Elaeocarpus
serratus, Psidium guajava, Trigonella foenum-graecum, Cuminum
cyminum, and Hibiscus. The review describe antifungal and
Antidandruff activity of punicadium granatum and Psidium granatum.
Our research is currently involved in the development of a completely
natural shampoo, in which all the ingredients are plant extracts and recorded antipityrosporum
activity. In the current study, physico-chemical parameters, conditioning effect,
antifungal effect against, Candida albicans, antibacterial effect against gram + ve and -ve
bacteria, and stability studies were examined.
