Abstract
Objective: To formulate and evaluate multipurpose herbal cream
containing Aloe vera gel, neem leaves(Azadirachta indica), tulsi leaves
(Ocimum tenuiflorum). Method: The cream was formulated by using
the cream base that is bee’s wax, liquid paraffin, borax, methylparaben,
distilled water, Aloe Vera gel, extracts of Neem and Tulsi. The cream
was prepared by using the slab technique for uniform and
monodispersed mixing of all the ingredients. Three batches are
prepared with this techniques namely C1, C2, C3. Different criteria
such as appearance, PH, viscosity, and phase separation were evaluated in all three batches.
Results: All three formulations, C1, C2, and C3, had a pleasing appearance, appropriate
viscosity, and no phase separation. During the irritancy investigation, the formulations C1,
C2, and C3 showed no redness, dryness, or irritation, and they were easily washable. At room
temperature, all three formulations C1, C2, and C3 were stable. Discussion: The actions of
the three herbal components significantly different. Based on the findings, we can conclude
that all three formulations C1, C2, and C3 were stable and could be used on the skin safely.
