REVIEW ON ASHTHA AAHARVIDHI VISHESHAYTAN AND AAHARA PARINAMAKARA BHAVA AS A DIGESTION ENHANCER AND IMMUNITY BOOSTER

Abstract
Ayurveda has always given at most important to Aahara, Agni and
Prakruti where Acharyas explain about the concept of Ashtha
Aaharvidhi Visheshaytan and Aahara Parinamankar- Bhavas. The
following factors are responsible for the promotion of strength and
immunity. Acharya Charak has defined Ashta Aharavidhi
Visheshayatana in a very systematic and scientific manner. It gives
basic dietary guidelines for choosing appropriate food, quality and
quantity of food, a combination of food and cooking method etc.
Proper knowledge of this Ahar Vidhi Visheshayatana will help in
reducing diseases and enhancing immunity. Aahara is very important
to sustain life and maintaining normal physiological functioning.
Aahara provides longevity, complexion, strength, nourishment and
immunity. Exterior fire is responsible for cooking, burning and transformation of matter by
changing properties where as interior Agni in the body help in digestion of food,
transformation of digested food into entities of body for its assimilation. Ingested food is bio
transformed into the body tissues. So Charakacharya have explained the Aahara
Parinamankar Bhavas; which are the various factors that transform food from complex from
to a digestible and absorbable form. The Aahar Parinamankar Bhavas are the factor
converting Panchbhautik Aahar into body entity. Digestive and immune systems are interconnected in an intricate way and play a central role in body's immune health.
