CONCEPT OF PANCHTIKTA GHRITA GUGGLU, KHADIRARISHTA AND EDGAJADI LEPA IN DADRU (TINEA CORPORIS)

Abstract
Skin diseases are considered the most common health problems
worldwide and they are associated with a lot of burden. The burden of
skin disease is a multidimensional concept that includes psychological,
social and financial factors. Tinea Corporis is most common
dermatophytosis. While Tinea Corporis occurs worldwide, it is most
commonly observed in tropical regions. The lifetime risk of acquiring
tinea corporis is estimated to be 10-20%. In tinea corporis erythema,
itching, granular surface, circular elevation of skin is present. The
drugs which are used in tinea have many side effects so they cannot be
taken for life long which leads to discontinuation of treatment. Tinea
corporis can be correlated to Dadru Kushtha on clinical basis. With aim to provide relief to
the patient and assess the efficacy of ‘Panchtikta Ghrita Gugglu’, ‘Khadirarishta’ and
Edgajadi lepa in Dadru (Tinea Corporis) the present review study have been planned.
