RASAYANA - A BOON OF AYURVEDA

Abstract
Ayurveda, the science of life deals with two main objectives, first is to
maintain the health of the healthy person (Swasthasya Swasthya
Rakshanam) and the second is to cure the ailments (Aturasya Vikara
Prashamnama) (Ch.Su.-30/26). For these objectives the three types of
dravyas are described in Ayurveda–Dosh-prashamaka, Dhatupradushaka
and Swasthya-hitkara (Ch.Su.-01/68). Swasthyahitkara
Dravyas are the main key for the maintenance of health. Rasayana is
also an important source for the maintenance of health. Due to its
properties, Rasayana is described as an independent therapy among the
eight parts of Ayurveda. Rasayana maintains as well as promotes the
health. Now-a-days the human beings are very busy in their life and
family so, they have to face many health-related issues in the later
phase of life (old Age). Even the modern aspect of treatment is not successful in order to
alleviate these issues. The modern aspect also accepts the old age and its disorders as a
challenge. In present time, increasing interest of people in Ayurveda and Yoga proves that the
ancient therapies are useful and beneficial. Hence, Yoga control and enhance the mental state, on the other hand, Ayurveda is also a ray of hope in making the life much better through Dincharya, Ratricharya, Ritucharya, Sadvritta, Aachar-Rasayana, Rasayana, Vajikaran and all the peculiarities about Aahara. Rasayana is a therapy of Ayurveda, which is very useful to maintain a healthy human life.
