A REVIEW ON DRUG-INDUCED ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION
Shailesh Pawar* and Surekha Shinde
Abstract
One of the most common causes of anaphylaxis is drug
hypersensitivity, especially in adults and hospitalized patients. Other
than anaphylactic triggers, drug-induced anaphylaxis (DIA) is linked to
more severe outcomes, and medications are responsible for the
majority of anaphylaxis-related deaths. The current understanding on
the incidence, prevalence, medicines involved, mortality, and mortality
risk factors for DIA is included in this review. Both anaphylaxis and
DIA appear to be on the rise around the world. The most commonly
reported DIA triggers include antibiotics and analgesics.
