LITERARY STUDY OF TYPES OF SNAYU AND ITS COMPARISON WITH TYPES OF MUSCLES

Abstract
Snayu which is described as the most important structure amongst
peshi, sira, asthi & Sandhi in Rachana Sharir. It forms a part of
musculoskeletal system along with bones & joints. There are different
opinions about the modern anatomical correlation of Snayu. Some
consider it as ligaments, some as muscles & so on. There are 4 main
types of snayu named according to their shapes & they are located in
certain areas. These are Pratan, Vrutta, Pruthu & Sushir. Muscles are
also categorized according to their shape & function. Certain muscles
are located in certain area. In this study, the comparison between types
of snayu & types of muscles is done to find out whether these two
entities can be correlated.
