A REVIEW ON MUCORMYCOSIS: AN OBJECTIONABLE MICROORGANISM

Abstract
Mucormycosis is a fungal disease which previously known as
zygomycosis. It is very rare fungal disease caused by fungus
mucormycotes which is already present in environment. It affects via
inhalation of fungal spores. Some sign and symptoms of mucormycosis
are pain and redness around eye and nose, shortness of breath fever,
headache, bloody vomiting, black fungal spot over face, altered mental
status, bloody mucus from nose, local pain on cheek bone, one sided
facial pain, numbness, toothache, blurred / double vision, etc.
Mucormycosis can be prevented by using mask at construction site,
wear shoes or long sleeves shirt, take bath, mucormycosis can be
treated by Antifungal therapy and surgical debriment.
