COMPARATIVE STUDY TO EVALUATE ROLE OF BODHI VRIKSHA KASHAYA AND GUDUCHI KASHAYA IN VATARAKTA ~ HYPERURICEMIA

Abstract
Vatarakta is more upsetting and painful disease commonly found in
present period. It is “Vatapradhana Tridoshaja Vatavyadhi” in which
the main Dushya is Rakta. Among Tridosha, Vata is a predominant in
Vatarakta. Vatarakta is interrelated with gout in modern science due to
similarities of symptoms between them. Gout is an atypical purine
metabolic disorder which causes hyperuricemia and deposition of
monosodium urate crystals in joints. Intense Pain is a principal
indication of gout, which interrupts day to day life of the affected
patients. The Shamana Chikitsa is not only an imperative section of
Ayurvedic treatment but it also systems the ultimate foundation of
Ayurveda treatment. Trial was carried out on 60 patients of either sex
in between 30 to 70 of age at P.G. department of Kayachikitsa,
Chaudhari Brahma Prakash Ayurveda Charak Sansthana. The duration of clinical trial was 30
days. Clinical evaluation was done by subjective criteria and objective criteria.
