PECTIN LOADED METAL NANOPARTICLES AND IT’S THERAPEUTICS APPLICATION- A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
Ayan Pal* and Dr. Rabindranath Pal
. Abstract Pectin is the secondary metabolize which occurs from plant sources. It is anionic hetero polysaccharide and abundantly found in the cell wall of terrestrial trees and plants. It increases therapeutic efficacy and bioavailability of many chemotherapeutic agents. Phyto-constituents have some physiological activities like anti oxidant, anti- inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-cancer properties. Functional groups like carboXylic acid and hydroXyl make pectin suitable to be covalently bonded with other bio-molecules and proteins. Based on these properties, pectin is being extensively employed to encapsulate/coat metal nano-particles (MNPs) to inhibit their aggregation and enhancing the suitability of MNPs for a wide range of applications in healthcare like drug delivery, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant properties etc. Nano-particles have been introduced a different type of formulations and evaluation method to identify the bioavailability of a drug. The present study concentrates on pectin loaded nano formulation to increase the bioavailability in various diseases. Keywords: pectin, phyto-constituents, nano-particles, anti-oxidant.
