. Abstract Chronic ulcers are a challenge for the treating surgeons. For the successful treatment of infections in chronic ulcers, antibiotics are frequently prescribed. The improper usage of these antibiotics, their easy availability along with the development of resistance to them by the bacteria has made many of the antibiotics redundant as a successful drug for overcoming infections. Excess use of antibiotics and usage of higher antibiotics is a burning medical issue. Their excessive usage has led to alterations in gut biotics, which has been related to development of various chronic diseases such as GIT abnormalities, cardiovascular diseases, cancer etc. Hence usage of Ayurvedic antibiotics may help overcome the antibiotic resistance commonly encountered in clinical practice esp in the management of chronic ulcers. Thus the study “Evaluation of antimicrobial property of mango seed kernel’ was taken up. It was found in the study that the alcohol extract of mango seed kernel compared to water soluble extract had encouraging antimicrobial action on S.aureus, E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. Keywords: Antimicrobial, Bacteria, Mango seed kernel, Antibiotic-resistance. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
