Abstract
Stem cells (SC) are specialized cells that are suitable to develop into
different cell types. Stem cell remedy is also known as regenerative
drug as it promotes the form response of diseased, dysfunctional or
injured tissue using stem cells or their derivatives. These have capacity
to make any new tissue in the human body, hence have great
eventuality for future therapeutic uses in tissue regeneration and repair.
Niches are local tissue micro environments that maintain and regulate
stem cells. Micro RNAs (miRNAs) are a class of short non-coding
RNAs, whose importance is increasingly nowadays. This review is a
preface to the world of stem cells and discussion about various
definition, classification as well as its role in treatment of various disease. It also focuses on
role of miRNAs in the regulation the cell cycle. Presently, regenerative drug is a major focus
of exploration not only to find curatives but also to understand introductory biology and the
pathogenesis of disease. Although a number of ethical issues have arisen in stem cell
exploration, recent advances in stem cell isolation and development have helped scientists to
identify and culture specific cell types for regeneration of tissue in various disorders such as
wound healing, kidney morphogenesis, lung morphogenesis, diabetes and other organs.
Keywords: Stem cell, wound healing, kidney - lung morphogenesis, diabetes, cell cycle, miRNAs biogenes.
