A DETAILED LITERARY STUDY ON KAAS W.S.R. TO KAPHAJ KAAS WITH MODERN REVIEW

Abstract

Shwas & Ushwas are the main act for respiration in the human body. In Ayurveda Kaas is explained as a separate disease but also symptom of many diseases like Rajkshma etc. According to modern generally there is two types of cough dry & wet, but in Ayurveda origin of Kaas is due to Aamdosha in the body & its types are also varies according to Doshas. If we go in depth of Samprapati(pathogenesis) of Kaas then main Dosha vitiated is Vayu i.e. Prana, Udana & Apana. In addition to it if Kapha & Pitta get associated with it then Kaas produce symptom according to associated Dosha. This paper contains a collective information about Kaas Vyadhi in detail with main focus on Kaphaj Kaas. In this article we made an effort to corelate Udana, Prana & Apana Vayu with modern science which are responsible for pathogenesis of Kaas.
