Abstract
Preparation of medicinal plant for experimental purpose is an initial
step and key in achieving quality research outcome. The solvent is the
key to a successful separation by liquid-liquid extraction. The plant
Nyctanthes arbor-tristis Linn is commonly used as traditional medicine
to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis and inflammation. The iridoid glycoside
is the active constituent which is responsible to show anti-arthritic and
anti-inflammatory activity. The current review article helps to select
the solvent which gives extract contain more iridoid glycoside by
comparative analysis of NAT extract in different solvent for
experimentation of anti-arthritic and anti-inflammatory activity.
Keywords: Nyctanthes arbor-tristis Linn; iridoid glycoside, Solvent, Rheumatoid arthritis.
