A CASE REPORT-ROLE OF GOMUTRA ARKA AND PARANTYADI TAILA IN AMPUTATED TOE

Abstract
Because of lack of well-established medical treatment, diabetic
wounds are conservatively treated by surgical debridement of necrotic
tissue as well as by controlling blood sugar level. A variety of
treatments had been evaluated for the management of diabetic wounds.
In ancient India, Acharya Charak and Acharya Susrutha has mentioned
Gomutra as the most effective substance with innumerable therapeutic
value. It is one of the important contents of Panchagavya containing 5
important substances obtained from cow, namely mutra, kshira, gritha,
dadhi, and gomaya. Gomutra has the medicinal properties like
bioenhancer, antibiotic, antifungal and anticancer and anti-diabetic
potential due to its antioxidant properties. Besides, external application
on excision wound has shown to hasten the wound healing. The Paranthyadi taila has been
mentioned in classics in the context of Mandala Visha Chikitsa for the treatment of the
wound caused by the bite of Mandala Sarpa. It is also a better choice of treatment for healing
of any types of wound. It is used to remove dermatitis, spider bite etc. also used for the
treatment of wounds, ulcers, it is also effective in conditions arising from Dushtarakta,
wounds with exudations & associated with itching. The main ingredient is Narikela taila
which is popular for its pleasant aroma, taste, powerful antioxidants, and wound healing
properties. It pacifies Vata and Pitta Dosha while it increases Kapha dosha. Udumbara is
Shita virya and treats bleeding disorders instantly. It alleviates Pitta and Rakta dosha, and
burning sensation. Aswattha helps in wound healing, reducing pain and swelling and acts as
haemostatic. The taila also acts as anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial antipruritic.
