PHARMACEUTICAL, ANALYTICAL AND COMPARATIVE STUDY OF KUKKUTANDA TWAK BHASMA AND AJASTHI BHASMA

Abstract
Ayurveda is science of life. Rasashastra - Ayurvedic Alchemy deals
with use of Metals, Minerals, Gemstones, Poisonous herbs, Animal
products and their processing. Sudhavarga dravyas or Suklavarga
dravyas, known for natural source of Calcium; of its carbonate or
sulphide forms hence, they play an important role in treating Calcium
deficiency disorders. Kukkutanda and Ajasti are Pranija sudhavarga
dravya, easily available Bio-waste products in market and known for
its increasing bone mineral density directly when used internally, so
selected for present study. Till now there is no study carried out in
public domain to compare the both bhasma preparations hence the
present study is titled as Pharmaceutical, Analytical and Comparative
Study of Kukkutanda Twakbhasma and Ajasthibhasma. Kukkutanda
Twakbhasma is ideal calcium supplement and Ajasthibhasma is not
just calcium supplement and helps to increases bone mineral density
too.
