Abstract
Now-a-days, there are a growing interest towards traditional medicinal
plants in order discover new drugs. Traditional medicinal plants
provide a vast material which are evidence proved in search of novel
drugs. Abroma augusta is one of among plants having enormous
medicinal properties. In order to establishment of quality standards,
authentication and identification of medicinally important plant, there
are many techniques evolved. Preliminary chemical analysis is done in
order to identify qualitative phyto-chemicals. There are many
chromatographic techniques also evolved to obtain fingerprint of plant.
In this study, the primary phytochemical analysis and HPLC
fingerprinting is done to alcoholic and aqueous extract of root bark of Abroma augusta. The
results showed that root-bark of Abroma augusta contains appreciable number of
phytochemicals benefits against various disorders confirming the correct use of this plant in
the traditional medicinal system.
