A REVIEW ARTICLE ON ANTI-DIABETIC ACTIVITY OF WITHANIA COAGUNS

. Abstract The use of Withania coagulans, a member of the solanaceae family, has been highlighted in Ayurveda. Withania coagulans Dunal (synonym: Puneeria coagulans Stocks), commonly known as Indian rennet, Indian cheese maker, vegetable rennet (English), Panir ke phool, Panir band, Paneer bandh, Punir dodi (Hindi), Ning gu shui qie (Chinese), is distributed in the drier parts of India.[1] The plant is native of the Asia-temperate (Western Asia: Afghanistan) and Asia-tropical (Indian Subcontinent: India, Nepal) regions. A survey of the literature has shown that in various traditional systems of medicine the plant has been recommended for the treatment of various disorders. Keywords: .
