Abstract
Remdesivir is a broad-spectrum antiviral single stereoisomer
monophosphora- midate prodrug of a nucleoside analogue used to treat
severe novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by SARS
coronavirus 2 (CoV-2) infection. Remdesivir is considered as the first
medical treatment that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
has approved for use in clinical care for COVID-19 patients who are
hospitalized. 2-ethylbutyl (2S)-2-[[[(2R,3S,4R,5R)-5-(4-
aminopyrrolo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-7-yl)-5-cyano-3,4-dihydroxyoxolan-
2-yl]methoxy-phenoxy phosphoryl]amino]propanoate is the IUPAC
name of Remdesivir. In this work, a quick overview of the analytical
methodologies developed to estimate this substance is reviewed.
