Abstract

Silajatu (Commonly known as Shilajit) is an important drug of ancient materia medica and is being used by the physicians since times immemorial. It has been given an exalting position as a drug in Charaka Samhita.[1] Where it is mentioned that there is hardly any curable disease which cannot be alleviated or cured with the aid of Silajatu (Na soasti…..vipulam dadati, C, Ci, 1-3/65).
