Abstract

Acne vulgaris is a persistent fiery state of skin in youth. In Ayurveda, acne vulgaris has been explained as one of the Kshudra Rogas (minor illnesses). It is appeared in immaturity hence called as Yuvanpidika or Tarunyapitika. Side effects of Mukhadushika show close similarity with bacterial contamination and provocative elements of skin inflammation. As indicated by Ayurveda, vitiation of Kaphadosha, Vata dosha and Rakta dhatu lead to acne vulgaris improvement. Kapha vitiation might look like with overabundance sebum creation, Vata vitiation might look like with hyperkeratinization and Rakta vitiation might look like with provocative factor in blood, assume a significant part in pathogenesis of acne vulgaris out. Both current and Ayurvedic sciences have thought about the utilization of skin as well as oral meds and their mixes for the treatment of acne vulgaris out. Present day meds give alleviation from acne vulgaris yet objective recognizable secondary effects. In Ayurveda, acne vulgaris has been dealt with fundamentally by Shodhana (purging of body) and Shamana (moderate treatment) Chikitsa or blend of both. However, a few Ayurveda texts like Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hrudaya, and so on, have explained the pathophysiology and treatment of acne vulgaris out, the accessible references are dissipated. In this manner, there is need of top to bottom survey and aggregation of Ayurvedic texts and written works. This survey might be useful in better comprehension of similar pathophysiology and the board of acne vulgaris.
