Abstract
Shwetha Karaveeradya Taila is mentioned in Charaka Samhita,
Kushta Chikitsadhyaya having the ingredients like Shwetha Karaveera,
Chitraka, Vidanga, Gomuthra and Tila Taila. Pharmaceutically
modified Ointment is an alternative solution to overcome the
disadvantage of Taila like its application, transportation and packing.
Hence, Shwetha Karaveeradya Taila was prepared by using Shwetha
Karaveeradya swarasa, Gomutra, Vidanga, Chitraka, and Tila Taila in
the proportion of 1/4: 1: 4. The Shwetha Karaveeradya Ointment was
prepared by using Shwetha Karaveeradya Taila (81.577%), Hard
paraffin (13.0039) and White petroleum jelly (5.418%). Both the
sample were evaluated Pharmaceutically and analytically. And the
results show no much differences while comparing the values of analytical study. HPTLC of
both the samples shows the similar number of peaks and similarity in chemical constituent
but the concentration is varying in some substance.
Keywords: Taila Kalpana, Shwetha karavera, Ointment, HPTLC.
