ROLE OF ACHARA RASAYANA IN PREVENTING STRESS INDUCED CORONARY HEART DISEASE

. Abstract Achara Rasayana is a unique ayurvedic concept of mind rejuvenation as it relieves mental stress and strain. Mental Stress is proved to be a leading cause of Atherosclerosis and thereby causing cardiovascular diseases. Stress induces hormonal imbalances which results in the production of excess glucose and fat. In the absence of physical exercise as seen in modern lifestyle it results in the deposition of this excess fat over the arterial walls causing atherosclerosis and thereby causing coronary heart diseases. The Coronary heart disease prevalence rate in India have ranged from 1.6% to 7.4% in rural population and from 1% to 13.2% in urban population.
