PHOTOBIOMODULATION IN ORAL MEDICINE: A REVIEW

. Abstract Photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in dentistry is an evolving science, with an increasing number of controlled clinical studies exploring its potential as a treatment modality. In literature, a great number of works are reported showing the advantages of PBM use in many oral diseases such as recurrent aphthous stomatitis, pemphigus vulgaris, oral lichen planus, burning mouth syndrome, xerostomia etc. The review’s aim is to describe the possible applications of PBM in oral medicine, giving practitioners simple guide for practice.
