AN AYURVEDIC REVIEW OF ETIOPATHOGESIS AND MANAGEMENT OF GRAHANI ROGA

Abstract
Health is defined by Ayurveda as the balance of the three Doshas,
Dhatu, Mala and Agni, as well as the contented state of the Atma,
Indriya, and Manasa. Currently, poor dietary practises Sedentary
lifestyles and stress are major contributors to a number of diseases and
have an impact on how well the digestive and absorbing systems work,
which results in a variety of digestive ailments. One of the most
prevalent diseases in Annavaha Srotas is grahani. Mandagni is the root
cause of all disease, and charaka says Grahani is the site where agni is
located and it is situated in area of the intestine between the Amashya
and Pakawashya known as "sasthi pittadhara kala". Because of its
ability to stop food from moving downhill, the Grahani nomenclature
is given this name. In a typical situation, it supports the food and releases it from the side
once it has been digested. So in this particular disease treatment are focused on application of
agni deepan and pachana medications alonga with nidan parivarjna.
