AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF ARDITA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO BELL’S PALSY A CASE REPORT

. Abstract * Ardita is considered as one among the 80 Vata Nanatmaja Vyadhis described in our Ayurvedic classics. * It can be correlated with the disease Bell’s palsy in modern aspects. * Acharya Charaka has included Sharirardha in Ardita. * Sushruta has considered as the only face is affected in Ardita. * Bell's palsy is characterized by sudden onset paralysis or weakness of the muscles to one side of the face controlled by the facial nerve (prosopoplegia). * The early effect of Bell's palsy is an inability to fully close the mouth and eye on the affected side of the face. * Causing difficulties in eating and speaking. * Corneal drying and erosion. * It is a need of the time to use Ayurvedic treatment in the management of acute stage of the disease; here we are submitting the case report of a successful case of Ayurvedic treatment of Ardita.
