A REVIEW ON SYNTHESIS AND SCAFFOLD PHARMACOPHORE OF BENZIMIDAZOLE DERIVATIVES

. Abstract Benzimidazole is a five membered heteroaromatic compound with two nitrogen atoms is of wide immense significance. They are also called as polycyclic heteroarene. Benzimidazole is synthesized by various fusion reaction between the benzene and imidazole. The drugs which are consists of benzimidazole nucleus shows various pharmacological activity, due to application of these drugs in treatment of microbial infection and other biological activities, motives for the development of more potent and significance drugs. Substituted benzimidazole derivatives have found that application in various therapeutic areas such as antimicrobial, anticancer, antihypertensive, anti coagulants, antihelmintic, antioxidant and anti depreesants etc, benzimidazole derivatives are more effective, medicinally useful compounds and extensive biochemicals.
