Abstract
This study was designed to redescribe the trematode Orientocreadium
batrachoides that have been recovered from the intestine of the catfish
Clarias lazera, in addition to the ultrastructural studies of this parasite
and the histopathological changes of the infected intestine of Clarias
lazera. Samples of Clarias lazera were dissected and examined for this
parasite and prepared for SEM and TEM, while the intestine of the
host was prepared for histological observations. This study has
provided further informations on Orientocreadium batrachoides,
particularly its impact on the host fish.
Keywords: Orientocreadium, fish, Ultrastructure, Histopathology, Clarias lazera.
