SHARANGDHAR SAMHITA: A CRITICAL REVIEW

. Abstract Ayurveda is an appendage of Atharvaveda. The knowledge of Ayurveda comes to us through many Samhitas. The word "Samhita" gives a sense of the antiquity and authenticity of Ayurveda. Ancient scholars have basically divided Ayurvedic literature into two parts: 1. Brihatrayi (Charakasamhita, Sushrutasamhita and Asatangasangraha). 2. Laghutrayi: (Madhavanidan, Sharangdhar Samhita, and Bhavaprakash). Shargadharacharya has collected most of the subject matter available in this Samhita from ancient texts like the Charaka Samhita, the Sushruta Samhita, and some other texts of Rasashastra.
