IMPORTANCE OF YOGA AND MEDITATION IN STUDENTS

Abstract
Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that allows the mind and body to be
connected with each other. It incorporates meditation, breathing
exercise and stretches to reduce stress and allow relaxation, and
rejuvenation. The education system is becoming increasingly adoptive
in providing yoga and meditation classes to students. This is because
meditating significantly contributes to good health by reducing mental
pressure. It is beneficial for students for not only resolving issues in
their academic level but also their social life. Yoga requires students to
have strong commitment towards achieving their goals and giving
maximum effort. Students who take-up yoga and meditation as their
daily routine can have a better quality of life than others, and allow
them to overcome obstacles in better way. Student between ages of 5 to 18 years are school
age children & it is about 30 percentage. It is a period of growth and development of
physically and mentally. The integration of yoga and meditation to students changes in
attitude and behaviour, relive from stress and strain, build up healthy life Style, shape high
moral character, and develop refined personality and make them complete well- being. Yoga
and meditation practice can lead to students to the attainment of the highest goal of life the
self-realization of the potentialities inherent in them.
