Abstract

Carica papaya also known as Papaya and its belongs to the family Caricaceae. It is popular fruit tree in tropical and subtropical area. The parts of papaya like peels, roots, leaves, fruits and seeds having so many therapeutics and nutrional significance. There are various phytochemicals in papaya plant like phytosterols, flavonoids, alkaloids, carotenoids, etc. Papaya fruit and its various parts are used in ayurvedic medicines. Its various parts can be used to treat various disease like fever, swelling, cancer, asthma, headache, etc.
