FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL ANTI-ACNE, ANTI- AGING FACEWASH

Abstract
Nowadays uses of herbal medicines has increased. Acne is a chronic
inflammatory condition of skin which causes pimples, spots on face. In
present study various attempts were made to development and
evaluation of the herbal anti-acne gel containing turmeric (curcuma
longa) as anti-inflammatory agent, lemon juice as a preservative,
liquorice root powder as a foaming agent, honey as moisturiser, orange
peel extract as anti-microbial agent. Xanthan gum as stabilizer and
nontoxic thickener, rose water as solvent, guggul used as acne, nutmeg
as antibacterial agent, tulsi extract as antioxidant, aloe vera as
moisturising agent, coriander extract as antioxidant and protect skin.
the prepared formulations were evaluated for various parameters like; colour, appearance,
homogeneity, consistency, washability, PH, spreadibility, and skin irritation test.
