Abstract
Antidesma montanum Blume is a folklore plant known for its antiinflammatory
property. Traditional practitioners use the leaves of this
plant to cure lumbar pain, arthritis in humans, and inflammation of
body parts. The present work is related to the preparation of polyherbal
Lepaguti containing leaves of Antidesma, Mustard, Cumin, and Pepper
and its organoleptic, physicochemical, and phytochemical evaluation.
The main objective of this study is to screen the anti-inflammatory
activity of the developed formulation using an in-vitro model,
particularly by inhibition of protein denaturation assay. The
experiments were performed according to standard protocols. The data
obtained from the present study shows that polyherbal Lepaguti has
significant anti-inflammatory activity and it supports the folklore
therapeutic claim in treating inflammatory conditions.
