HYPHENATED TECHNIQUES: AN OVERVIEW
Sheetal V. Patil*, Dr. Shashikant D. Barhate
Abstract
The hyphenated technique is developed from the coupling of a
separation technique and an online spectroscopic detection technology.
The remarkable improvements in hyphenated analytical methods over
the last two decades have significantly broadened their applications in
the analysis of biomaterials, natural products, elemental species,
explosives, trace elements and so on. In this article, recent advances in
the applications of various hyphenated techniques, e.g., GC-MS, LCMS,
LC-FTIR, LC-NMR etc in the different areas like forensic
science, environment, biotechnology, geography, pharmaceutical etc.
are discussed with appropriate examples
Keywords: Hyphenated technique, GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-FTIR, LC-NMR, separation technique.
