Abstract
Pandu roga is a very common disorder among female population than
male and children and can be found in any group of age. Even though
there are many etiological factors responsible for causing the disease,
the most neglected factor is the Ojas. Pandu roga is mentioned as a
disease of the Rasavaha Strotasa in the classical text.[1] It is a Pitta
dominant tridoshaja disorder leading to Rasakshaya which affects the
whole body. Ojas is considered as essence of seven Dhatus in the body.
Ayurveda describes Ojakshaya as one of the Ojavikara which may be
prevalent in various diseases. The pathogenesis of Pandu roga also
describes this phenomenon. As Oja is located in Hridya which is also
the place of origin of Rasavaha strotas. The vitiation of Oja manifests
various abnormalities due to which Pandu roga is developed. So an attempt is made to study
the Ojas and its pathophysiological importance in Pandu roga.
