AACHAR RASAYAN: ANCIENT REGIME FOR PREVENTION OF DISEASES

Abstract
Ayurveda has various different and unique approaches to live a healthy
life. It is a main objective of ayurveda i.e. to “maintain the health of a
individual by preventing diseases and to cure the disease ones”.
Ayurveda is also a life science it puts various ways to prevent and
manage lifestyle disorders through dietary management and lifestyle
and few of these, ways are Dincharya (daily regimens), Ritucharya
(seasonal regimens), Aachar Rasayan (code of conduct),
Sadvritta(ideal routines), Panchakarma (biopurification), Rasayana
(rejuvenation) therapies. Psychosomatic problems are as ancient as
civilizations and according to ayurvedic aspect the psychological
(psychiatric) and physiological (organic) i.e Manas and Sharira roga
are interrelated to each other. One of the eight major divisions of
Astang Ayurveda is Rasayana Tantra. In Ayurveda, major methods of presentation of positive
health has been described i.e. Rasayana. Through interlink of various a connection between
health and happiness is shown, which results in production of Ojas. These activities are
included in Achara Rasayana. A critical analysis of qualities of Achara Rasayana reveal that
these are related with Mana, Dhi, Dhriti along with good conduct and results in maximum
benefits. Achar Rasayana Principles are more relevant in todays modern era The Sadvritta
and Aachar Rasayan are of most important to maintain a healthy and happy socio
physiological wellbeing of a person. The Sadvritt and Aachar rasayan has ancient traditional values and have inmportant role in human happiness and positive health.
