EFFECT OF YAVADI GUDAVARTI AS DAHA AND VEDANA SHAMAK IN POST-FISSURECTOMY WOUND MANAGEMENT

Abstract
Proctology is a field of excellence for many practitioners and
postoperative pain is an acquaintance difficult to handle. Vartis
(suppositories) was in vogue since pre-historic times and are used with
aim of reducing postoperative pain and burning sensation i.e. as Daha
and Vedana Shamak in postoperative fissure wounds. A fissure is an
elongated ulcer and wound formed post-operatively and is also situated
deep inside the anal canal. Due to the inflammatory condition, it is not
possible to insert a finger in this inflamed site and apply
lepa/ointment/jelly. To overcome this difficulty varti/suppository on
vrana/wound is the best alternative. And lubrication of
varti/suppository facilities application of varti inside the anal canal. In
this study total of 10 patients of fissurectomy were selected from OPD and Yavadi Gudvarti
(suppositories) use locally in each patient for 5 days daily. Patients were assessed on the
following parameters such as pain, burning sensation, Granulation, and discharge through the
wound.
