Abstract
Anemia is a blood disorder that can be defined as hemoglobin,
hematocrit, or the number of red blood cells below the normal range. It
is a global public health problem that affects developed and developing
countries of all ages. Iron deficiency is believed to be the most
common cause of anemia worldwide, although other conditions, such
as folate, vitamin B12, and vitamin A deficiencies, chronic
inflammation, parasitic infections, and inherited disorders can cause
anemia. It anemia is classified as- mild anemia (hemoglobin 9.0 to 10.9
g / dl), moderate anemia (hemoglobin 7.0 to 8.9 g / dl) and severe
anemia (hemoglobin less than 7.0 g / dl3) according to World Health Organisation. Aim and
Objectives: Aim- To assess the effectivness of Lecithinum on different indices of RBCs in
females suffering from anaemia. Objectives: To explore which content of blood improves by
administering Lecithinum in patients suffering from Anaemia. Assessing blood on the basis
of MCV, MCH, MCHC, in anaemic female patients. Study Design: Intervention Model:
Prospective interventional study. Pre-test – Post-test control group design. Method: 220
cases were screened, out of which 200 were found eligible for study. 100 cases were selected
by randomisation using random number table. CBC was the main tool used in the study for
evaluating before & amp; after values of MCV, MCH & amp; MCHC in reproductive age
anemic females. Homoeopathic medicine Lecithinum 6X was given to the patient according to the susceptiblity, continued for the 6 follow ups. Study Setting: The present study was undertaken at M.N. Homoeopathic Medical college, and Research Institute, Bikaner. The cases were taken from the OPD/IPD. Study Duration: First 3 months preparation of trial by collecting 100 cases (sample size). Then all cases were given same treatment i.e. - Lecithinum for 6 months. Then for 3 months analysis and interpretation of data. Intervention: Homoeopathic medicine Lecithinum 6X. Statistical Technique and Data Analysis: The statistical technique used was-' Paired t-test'. Paired t-test was used to assess the before and after values of MCV, MCH & MCHC in each patient. Results: Statistical analysis Paired t - tests calculated for MCV, MCH & MCHC, the mean difference between before and after values of each RBCs indices are -6.39800, -4.26600 and -2.39800 respectively, using SPSS software, showing improvement not equally in MCV, MCH & MCHC values. The mean = 77.88± 8.26(SD) as after value in comparison to mean to mean = 71.48 ± 12.04(SD) as after value in MCV, mean = 31.45± 2.06(SD) as after value in comparison to mean to mean = 29.06 ± 3.30 (SD) as before value in MCHC & amp; mean = 29.19 ± 3.93 (SD) as after value in comparison to mean to mean = 24.93 ± 6.1 (SD) as before value. Conclusion: It is evident from the results that values of different indices of RBCs i.e MCV, MCH & MCHC can be improved by using Lecithinum 6X. Prescription done according to the susceptibility can effectively and safely relieve an anemic female of reproductive age. with. Since the duration of this study was for one year only and a small sample size was taken, further research and studies of longer duration and large sample size are required to establish its efficacy for the cure of diagnosed cases of anemia.
