SPIRULINA: A POTENTIAL ALGAE AND ITS HEALTH BENEFITS TO HUMAN HEALTH

Abstract
Spirulina is considered as a space food which is found as an excellent
food for human consumption it is known to have various antiviral,
immunological properties which are useful and also acts as human
health potential therapeutic effects. This research paper focuses on
important properties found in Spirulina and its health benefits for
human consumption. It possesses high contents of proteins, vitamins,
lipids and minerals showing functional biological activities hence it
may be a promising drug for treatment and prevention of many
diseases. The present review has been focused on the different
compounds which are present in spirulina namely, proteins,
carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins, minerals, nucleic acids, antioxidants,
pigments and enzymes for healthcare purpose.
