ETHOSOMES FOR TREATMENT OF SKIN INFECTIONS – A REVIEW

. Abstract Delivery of drug using the intact skin as the port of drug administration to the human body has been recognized for several decades. But the skin is a very difficult barrier to the ingress of materials allowing only small quantities of a drug to penetrate over a period of time. Ethosomes has permeation of drug molecules (relatively small vesicle size) to and through the skin to the systemic circulation. Ethosomes, noninvasive delivery carriers that enable drugs to reach deep into the skin layers or the systemic circulation made up of phospholipids, high concentration of ethanol and water. This review article summarizes structure, Composition, method of preparation, evaluation, mechanism of drug penetration, Advantage and Disadvantage of ethosomes. Keywords: .
